  • Position Overview

    It's an exciting time at FLEXcon as we continue our lean transformation and have the need for a Financial Analyst III that preferably has direct experience in a manufacturing environment.  This opportunity is located at our headquarters in Spencer, MA.  The incumbent will be a key member of the Finance Department and directly aligned to be a strategic partner for a defined business unit.  The Financial Analyst will take the initiative in Analysis, Pricing, Planning and Reporting, address all relevant items with an exceptionally high degree of accuracy, make actionable recommendations, and implement them.


    • Reporting
      • Leads the monthly Financial review process for assigned Business
      • Creates, maintains, generates, and distributes monthly reporting material (including Monthly Business Metrics, ABC Monthly Reports, Business Team Reviews, and Sales Manager Reviews)
      • Identifies and implements corrective actions, in collaboration with the business, on Profit, Inventory, Costs and Pricing.
      • Evaluates, monitors and reports on the effectiveness of FLEXcons Activity Based Costing (ABC) during the year. Adjusts and maintains the ABC methodology
    • Planning
      • Develops and implements Forecasting and Annual Planning processes for assigned Business including\, Revenues, Costs and Profits
      • Provides financial scenario modeling as part of the planning processes
      • Interfaces with internal leaders and provides general assistance, ensuring accuracy and reasonableness, of their plans
    • Analysis
      • Expert in identifying and manipulating financial and operational data to complete and fully support his/her analysis, conclusions and recommendations
      • Performs complex Financial analysis of Manufacturing, Materials, Overhead and Administrative costs with limited supervision
      • Completes Return on Investment analyses
      • Works closely with assigned Business to identify and implement improvements to customer and product profitability
      • Accurately completes ad hoc analysis under tight deadlines
    • Pricing
      • Uses business acumen and Activity Based Costing, in collaboration with Business and Sales associates, to determine the optimum pricing levels for specific products and customers
      • Analyzes and make recommendations to FLEXcons overall pricing practices to improve the profitability of FLEXcon’s products
      • Supports Transfer Pricing by analyzing and adjusting Intercompany prices in alignment with FLEXcons Transfer Pricing Policy and Tax Regulations


    • EDUCATION: Financially oriented undergraduate degree. MBA preferred.
    • EXPERIENCE: 5-7 years of relevant financial experience in manufacturing
      • High proficiency in the use of Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office.  
      • Experience with data warehouse, Qlikview, Tableau would be a nice to have
      • Strong analytical skills, general business knowledge/judgment, work ethic and interpersonal skills
      • Polished verbal and written communication skills
      • Ability to work in a dynamic environment
      • A solid command of accounting principles and financial analytics
